American Girl Restoration - Hair, The Aftermath

Looking at party girl Samantha, she doesn't look so party girl anymore.

Here she is posing in her Buster Brown Dress!
I am proud of what happened to her. Remembering what she used to look like and what she looked like now amazes me! Not only was her hair a mess but she was just dirty. The eBay seller told me that the doll belonged to his sister who had it in storage for 20+ years and that she only played with it for about a year. It is amazing what dirty and storage can do to a doll!

Looking at Samantha, I can imagine she is glad she is out of her dusty storage locker and restored to her former glory. I know she doesn't look new but she is such a great looking doll now. I am a little sad to think that I was considering selling her after restoration, I am second guessing that past decision.

I love her lack of face paint, her light brown hair (versus the dark brown hair of Mattel Samantha), her soft lashes and just her more curvier body. She has such a soft and endearing face.

Curious what her hair looks like now with ribbons?

Her hair is still a little dark because it was still slightly wet.

I am so glad I took the time to restore her. She is a beautiful doll that deserved all that tender loving care that she needed to get her back to her former glory.

  2. Any idea what's going on with her bangs? They look a bit odd and choppy compared to both my (Mattel) Samantha and my mother's (Pleasant Company) Samantha.

    1. I got her in a lot with trunk, her clothes and her. I didn't even realize she was a WB until I asked the seller if she was. I suspect party girl Samantha was part of a little girl's client list of hairdresser ;)
